Video calling is also supported through a frontcamera, and the GD910 also has speech dialling and a text-to-speech function to read back text on the 1.4" display. LG haven't given full details of the phone, but it will be interesting to see how much it weighs and what the battery life like. |

Lenovo Demos 'OPhone' Android Handset
Lenovo, well known as computer maker, currently also in progress in producing its version of Android-based phone. Codenamed as OPhone, this phone will be available excusively to China Mobile (for China region, of course) using the magic of high speed TD-SCDMA network. From the surface, this touchscreen thing is quite similar to iPhone-form factor. Previously we reported that OPhone will be own proprietary cellphone OS.Dunno which is one wrong or right, but Lenovo and China Mobile are currently collaborating on creating their own Operating System. Probably, this Android phone will be a stepping stone before creating their own. Experience is the best teacher, isn’t it? |

OLED screen for touch screen handset in 2009? The rumours about a forthcoming, top of the range, mobile phone appearing from Sony Ericsson in 2009 seem to be gathering pace. The latest news regards the quality of the screen that is reported to be in line for the new design. The handset, which will apparently be Sony Ericsson's first touch screen phone, will be a high specification OLED model, spanning 3in. The latest variation in screen technology, OLED has, thus far, been too expensive to produce in mass market terms. However, such a screen would have immense benefits. To begin with, it doesn't need backlighting which means it features dramatically less power to run making any phone run longer on a single charge. OLEDs are also brighter, can hold more colours and are faster. Other reported features for the new mobile phone apparently include Wi-Fi and a browser for Internet-related interaction. Reports from the Mobilewhack website say that the new phone may make an appearance or at least be part of an announcement via Sony Ericsson at the forthcoming Consumer Electronics Show which is only around a month away.

Sony Ericsson IM502 tripod Phone I’m not sure how we missed this… Sony Ericsson has a new mobile phone tripod called IM502. As you can see from the image above, it looks quite useful and way better than their previous tripod that came in the Camera Phone Kit IPK-100, which was unveiled alongside the Snap-on Speakers MPS-75. Anyway, the new tripod is expandable, measures 27×59x10 mm and should already be available in some mobile shops. We’re not sure about the price, though, but we’re sure if you have one of the high-end Cyber-shot models, you’ll also like to have a pairing tripod.

Mobiado 105GMT GOLD features Mechanical Watch For those of you who have gone through the last few months thinking that the “Credit Crunch” was a form of cereal and that a “recession” only refers to your dad’s balding hairline, there is a new luxury mobile handset on the market that comes complete with a mechanical watch.
The Mobiado 105GMT GOLD has an integrated Swiss mechanical watch below the keypad with each movement containing 25 jeweled bearings, and has the ability to perform 28,800 vibrations per hour, which is important in the watch world. The watch has 28 hours of power reserve, and is a self-winding automatic mechanism with a ball-bearing. It’s not all old school with this mechanism though, as you can set two international time zones thanks to a dual mechanical watch movement called the Discovery mechanism. The phone itself is equipped with a 2 megapixel photo and video camera, and packs over 1 GB of internal memory. The 2″ display boasts up to 16 million colors. It also has both Bluetooth and micro USB connectivity, and a music player that supports AAC, eAAC+, and MP3 audio formats. If you like the idea of exclusivity, this handset is limited to just 50 phones, with a limited edition number engraved on the back of each 105GMT GOLD. The price of this bit of royalty is yet to be announced, but no doubt you’ll be living off canned backed beans for a few months after you’ve whipped out your credit card for this. |
